Behind the scenes
A lot more goes into making the Toronto Country Dancers
succeed than is obvious at the dances. There's a great deal to be done
and we've set it up so if a lot of people help, no one has to do much
work. All dancers, and especially members are encouraged to get involved.
The easiest way to get involved is to volunteer during
a dance evening:
- setting up
- staffing the door for the duration of one dance
- pouring cider during the break
- cleaning up at the end of the evening
Most dancers will volunteer for one of these tasks a few
times each season.
How Else Can I Help ?
If you would like to help out officially, here are some opportunities:
- volunteer to be a floor
manager for an evening (you still get to dance !)
(Floor Manager Tasks)
- join the sound committee and learn about sound
- join the Spring Thaw Group
- speak to our President about other
volunteer opportunities
Meetings
Another good way to find out what goes on is to come to
our monthly meetings, typically 6:00 - 7:00 pm on the evening of the
first dance of the month. These meetings are open to all dancers.
